Why are people in Tennessee allowed to bet on their favorite teams during the basketball games this week, while people in Alabama can’t? I urge you to help make mobile sports betting legal here in Alabama! Legalizing sports betting seems like a common sense move for the state. It is an additional source of revenue, it creates a legal market where consumers are protected, and it provides entertainment for those who want it. For those reasons, I ask you to please support legislation that would give us the ability to bet on sports here in Alabama.

I want to be able to bet on sports here, and I want to be able to do it from my phone just like I do with most everything else, and the same way people in Tennessee can. Every year at this time, Alabama sports fans are glued to their TVs watching and betting on basketball, but we’ve never had a legal option. In order to keep sports betting revenue in Alabama, we need a legal alternative to the offshore companies who rip people off, provide no consumer protections and deliver no money to the state.
