I urge you to do whatever you can to bring mobile sports betting to Georgia. I want to place bets directly from my phone or computer, from my home, just like in so many other states across the country, including Tennessee. Sports fans across Georgia are placing bets through platforms that lack critical security features and provide no consumer protections. A lot of these illegal platforms seem legitimate, but they don’t have secure payment systems, tools for responsible gaming or protections against underage play. I believe that you should stand up for consumer protections, including those that we desperately need for sports betting in Georgia. Sports betting money should stay right here in Georgia instead of going to unregulated operators, illegal bookies and other states like Tennessee, which is what is happening without mobile betting.

I don’t understand why it’s still not possible for me to bet legally here in Georgia when it seems like you can in every other state. I know there are a lot of people who already bet on sports in Georgia. Why not make it legal and offer strong consumer protections so no one is left unsafe? Right now, people are betting with illegal companies on their phones, which don’t offer any customer protections and put people at risk. It is in the best interest of our state that we legalize sports betting now so that everyone who is betting on sports today can be protected and so sports betting revenue can help fund Georgia’s needs. I hope that you make sports betting legal in Georgia soon.

As your constituent I am asking that you please bring legal sports betting to Georgia. Legalizing sports betting seems like a common sense move for Georgia. It is an additional source of revenue, it creates a legal market where consumers are protected, and it allows for an additional element of entertainment for those who want it. Betting on sports is fun and I enjoy it. I do it responsibly and it makes hanging with my friends and watching games more fun. But right now, the only option people in Georgia have is to bet with offshore sites that have really bad histories for not paying people when they win. I’d much rather bet with a legal site and know that when I win I’ll get my money. Please legalize mobile sports betting. Thank you.

We all know that sports betting is already happening in Georgia, it is just being done illegally with operators who have no interest or reason to protect the residents of our state. That’s why we need a legal alternative. We should have the ability to bet legally, know that our money is safe with a licensed company, and know that there is someone we can talk to if we have a problem with one of the companies. Sports betting is being legalized around the country, and it’s time that Georgians like myself be able to safely and legally bet on sports.

As an adult and resident of Georgia, I should be able to choose to safely bet on sports if I want to. Other states allow it, and our state should join them. I should be able to bet with companies who are regulated by the state, and I should be able to do it from my phone just like I do with most everything else I do. Georgians have been betting on sports for a long time, but we’ve never had a legal option, and I think that is wrong. We need a legal alternative to the offshore companies who run these mobile apps and rip people off and we need to keep that money here in Georgia where we need it!
