H.R. 5715 would institute national Red Flag Gun Seizure laws, Universal Gun Registration, would require a government issued permit to even buy ammo and would literally BAN new gun owners from buying their first firearm. Like I said, the bill is garbage. That's why I'm demanding that you do everything in your power to STOP, BLOCK and OPPOSE H.R. 5717! While it would codify over a dozen gun control agenda items, one of the most egregious sections in this socialist drivel deals with taxing firearms and ammunition. New ammunition purchases would be hit with a 50% tax increase, while all new firearm sales would see a 30% tax increase -- making it that much harder for Americans to exercise their right to keep and bear arms. This would do absolutely nothing to stop criminals, of course, as they get their firearms and ammunition from fellow criminals or by stealing them. But this bill wasn’t designed to deal with public safety. This legislation is designed to crush our Second Amendment freedoms and disarm the American people, ultimately ensuring that only criminals and the government have guns! I stand with the Wisconsin Firearms Coalition and am 100% opposed to this legislation.
