As your constituent, I am writing to insist that you oppose H.R.8/S.529 or any legislation that institutes so-called ‘Universal Background Checks.’ This legislation is being pushed by Michael Bloomberg and the far left because it would create a national registry of gun owners by requiring federal permission for virtually every firearms transfer. The fact that Bloomberg and Pelosi are behind this bill tells me all I need to know about this legislation, and that should be enough for you, too. But in case it’s not, I wanted you to hear from me directly, that I am 100% opposed to this legislation and that I will 100% oppose any lawmaker who supports it. The gun control crowd have made it clear now that they want to forcibly disarm gun owners like me, and registration schemes like this make that more possible. To be clear, there is no version of this bill that I would ever find acceptable. Please oppose this legislation in the Judiciary Committee as well as on the floor. 'Universal Background Checks' HR8 and S529 - better known as Universal Gun Registration - will not save any lives, or stop any violent criminals from finding firearms. In fact, they haven't stopped a mass murderer yet. Even though they are criminals, not every mass killer is stupid. If they know they won’t be able to pass a background checks, they’ll simply get their guns from other sources or steal them. At the same time, many of the killers who have carried out mass attacks over the last five years, did so after first PASSING the background check -- showing us how worthless they are at stopping crime!
