Our students deserve their fair share
In years past, the allocation for nonpublic school auxiliary funds has remained stagnant while the number of students eligible for the funding increased. This discrepancy resulted in the per pupil allocation being cut year after year, negatively affecting the quality of services our most vulnerable students were receiving.
This year, there is a proposed increase in Chapter 192/193 funds. The increase will not reinstate the full $995.33 our students deserve, as mandated by the State. Yet, it is a significant step in the right direction and more importantly, it will help struggling students get the services they need and deserve.
Therefore, as a parent of a nonpublic school child who sees every day the importance of government funding to our school system, I urge you to recognize the importance these funds have for our students and work to ensure the additional funding inserted is sustained in any final budget.
Thank you for your consideration.
Ensure our students get their fair share
As a parent of a nonpublic school student, I see how important government funding is for our nonpublic schools.
I am therefore contacting you today to ask that you sustain the increases in nonpublic school funding inserted by the legislature to the Governor’s proposed budget
