Gun Owners of America tells me that the ATF recently decided that the Honey Badger Pistol produced by Q LLC is now being called a short barrel rifle (SBR). ATF’s arbitrary action has placed an untold number of firearms owners and dealers in legal jeopardy simply because the barrel on firearms that were previously called pistols and are now called SBRs is less than 16 inches. To be sure, dozens of other manufacturers have relied on previous ATF guidance and produced products similar to the Honey Badger. This reclassification is not only unfair and serves no governmental purpose, but is extralegal because Congress has not enacted any new laws that would allow such a definition to fit. I am urging you to tell ATF to call off their witch hunt, let Q LLC know that they can continue to sell the Honey Badger Pistol, AND let Congress know that you support H.R. 5289 which will deregulate SBRs once and for all.
