Help Save VOCA Funding and pass AB 1956!

Tell California to invest $200 million in Victims Services funds to backfill the federal funding cuts and pass AB 1956.

Due to ongoing federal instability the state's victim service providers are at risk of devastating funding cuts. We must urge the California legislature to include life-saving funding to prevent these cuts from occurring and provide ongoing stability to crime victim services.

VOCA is at the center of the state's response to supporting victims of crime and these cuts will impact programs serving victims of child abuse, elder abuse, human trafficking, domestic violence, sexual assault, and more. These programs provide counseling, housing services, crisis response, and direct legal services, along with a range of other responses to address trauma and support their healing.

To prevent this shortfall from affecting services in the future, we are urging California legislature to support AB 1956. This bill would require the California government to step in and back-fill crucial life-saving funding for the state if federal VOCA funding is reduced by more than 10%.

Take action now and make your support for VOCA funding heard by key California legislators and Governor Newsom.
