Get to know and educate your members of Congress. While our federal legislators are at home during "recess" (AKA district work periods) you can – and should – take this opportunity to meet with them and share critical information about all you do as a pharmacist. They need to know pharmacists do much more than dispense medications. If they don’t know what we really do, how can they adequately represent us, their constituents? Pharmacists have been key front-line health care providers and access points for testing, vaccination, and patient care during COVID-19. Ensure that your Members of Congress know this. Use this time when they are back in your state to ensure they are properly informed about our education and training, along with the services we provide our patients, as well as all of our concerns and priorities as medication experts.
