Protect meals for children!

The Food Bank of the Southern Tier is extremely concerned that USDA’s authority to issue child nutrition waivers has not been extended.

Without these waivers, millions of school meal programs and summer meal providers will not be able to provide meals and will experience extreme challenges to program solvency.

Providers are struggling due to supply chain shortages and price spikes, as well as more expensive program costs over the last two years. Families are struggling, too. These waivers matter to our combined efforts to feed kids in our communities and to hire local workers to support these programs in the schools and summer meal programs.

Please reach out to Senate Majority Leader Schumer and urge him to include an extension of the waivers in the COVID relief bill.
