Bill C-368, introduced by MP Blaine Calkins, aims to protect natural health products from overreaching regulations by repealing sections 500-504 of Bill C-47, Canada’s 2023 Budget Bill. These sections controversially moved natural health products into the same regulatory category as pharmaceutical drugs, a shift that has negatively impacted the industry.
On November 28, 2024, Bill C-368 passed the Committee Stage and was referred back to the House of Commons for the Report Stage and Third Reading. Please note, the process to have Bill C-368 passed into law is not over.
