The cost of child care is unaffordable for many families, and there is a lack of child care providers in several areas of the state. Several childcare centers have closed in recent weeks making the problem even worse.
The Governor has proposed a small childcare tax credit that totals about $240 per eligible family, but a childcare tax credit only helps those families who already have childcare and can afford it. It doesn't help those families who are on a waitlist or don't have a childcare spot for their child.
Please contact Governor Jim Justice and lawmakers and demand that funding for child care be added to the agenda for the current Legislative Special Session. Your voice can make a difference!
Please use this form and tell Governor Justice and your legislators why child care is important to you!
